Engineering Centre of Nuclear Equipment Strength and Research in Material Behaviour (ENES) is the leading Minatom organization on strength, reliability, lifetime, corrosion and research in material behaviour.
ENES:
- Makes recommendations for selection of structural materials
- Performs
- qualification testing of structural materials, including chemical analysis, physical, mechanical and corrosion tests, examination of micro- and macrostructure;
- analysis of in-service degradation of structural components and determination of its causes;
- comparison of Russian norms with ASME, RCC, KTA and other codes;
- calculations and experiments to justify life extension of NPP components;
- Performs strength analysis to confirm structures integrity;
- Develops:
- software to be used in strength analysis of structures;
- nuclear rules and norms;
- Provides product certification.
To enable its certification activities, ENES has been accredited as:
- technically competent independent testing center (ENES TC), accreditation certificate ¹ ROSS.RU.0001.21AYa52;
- a body for voluntary certification of structural materials, substances, componentry and spare parts for process (heat and power) equipment used at industrial and energy installations (SM CB), accreditation certificate ¹ ROSS.RU.0001.11AYu60.
Accreditation scope of ENES TC and SM CB covers metals (steels, ferrous alloys, nonferrous, rare and rare-earth metals and alloys, weld and facing materials, service water), parts, assemblies, componentry and spare parts for standard pipelines and components.
